"So, how did you get into Glass?"

From a young age, I always had the drive to create, and as soon as able, I applied to the Columbus College of Art and Design to pursue this passion. I originally began majoring in animation but quickly realized how much I disliked sitting at a desk all day. Instead, I switched majors to illustration and happened to take an elective Intro to glass course that semester.  I didn't realize it at the time, but after that brief exposure, I was fascinated and entirely hooked on glass as a medium.

There was a semester between that first intro class and what would be my focus for the next 8 years. While I was working on an illustration in class... all I could think about was the glass studio. "I wonder what they are making down there."  I couldn't focus on anything else other than the glass. I missed it.  So instead of fighting it, I decided to pursue glass seriously and changed my major for the final time.

After college, I have worked primarily in glass production for various studios and independent artists, as well as overseeing studios and teaching classes. Including such places as The Little Black Pearl Academy for the Arts, The Chrysler Museum of Art, and the Goggleworks Center for the Arts.  Currently, I am an employee at Greatful Gathers in Pennsylvania. In between all of that, I create my own work.
